JU Proctor Rashidul Alam resigns, Zakir Hossain appointed acting successor
Philosophy Professor Md Zakir Hossain will serve as acting proctor until further notice following AKM Rashidul Alam’s resignation
Jahangirnagar University (JU) Proctor Professor AKM Rashidul Alam has resigned from his post, with Professor Md Zakir Hossain appointed as his acting successor.
The university confirmed the development through an office order issued today (29 July), signed by Acting Registrar Dr ABM Azizur Rahman.
According to the order, Rashidul Alam, a professor of the Department of Environmental Sciences, was relieved of his duties following his resignation.

Professor Md Zakir Hossain of the Department of Philosophy has been appointed as the acting proctor with immediate effect and will continue in the role until further notice.
The order said he would receive the benefits applicable to the position under existing university rules.
The university has also instructed the outgoing and newly appointed proctors to complete the formal handover process and submit relevant transfer documents to the authorities as soon as possible.
Professor Rashidul Alam could not be reached for comment despite repeated attempts to contact him by phone regarding his resignation.
