Interim VC of Kuet resigns
Around 11:30am this morning, the teachers’ association of Kuet held a human chain in the campus demanding Hazrat’s resignation and appointment of a new VC
Amid demands raised by the teachers, the interim Vice Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) Md Hazrat Ali has resigned from his position.
Hazrat submitted his resignation letter to the education ministry today (22 May), confirmed Deputy Registrar of Kuet Abdur Rahman.

Earlier on 1 May, the education ministry appointed Hazrat, a professor of Kuet's Civil Engineering department, as the interim vice chancellor.
On 19 May, Hazrat left the campus for Dhaka citing official reasons in the face of back-to-back movements by the teachers and the students of the university.
On 25 April, the education ministry had withdrawn the then Kuet VC Professor Mohammad Mashud and Pro VC Professor Sheikh Shariful Alam after a movement by the students.
