IIUC signs partnership deal with six foreign universities at VCFARE 2025 in Malaysia
The agreement aims to promote strategic partnerships in higher education, facilitate research and innovation, enhance student and faculty exchange, and build human capital through mobility and leadership programmes
 
The International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with six universities from Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Uzbekistan, and Saudi Arabia to strengthen academic and research collaboration.
The signing took place on Friday (31 October) during the Vice-Chancellors' Forum for Academic and Research Excellence (VCFARE 2025), hosted by Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) in Terengganu, Malaysia, according to a press release.
IIUC Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Ali Azadi and UniSZA Vice-Chancellor Prof Dato' Dr Fadzli bin Adam signed the LoI in a physical meeting, marking the first step toward a comprehensive Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) among the participating institutions.
The agreement aims to promote strategic partnerships in higher education, facilitate research and innovation, enhance student and faculty exchange, and build human capital through mobility and leadership programmes.
Prof Dr Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, dean of business studies and director of IQAC, represented IIUC at the event.
Partner institutions include Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (Brunei), Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya and Universitas Fort De Kock (Indonesia), Umm Al-Qura University (Saudi Arabia), and others from Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
