HOV opens submissions for World Water Day contests

House of Volunteers Foundation Bangladesh (HOV) has launched its annual World Water Day Observance Programme 202.
Since 2020, HOV has been mobilising youth nationwide to address the growing challenges of water pollution, climate change, and the overexploitation of natural water sources. This year, the foundation has organised two nationwide creative competitions — a painting contest and a photography contest — to promote safe water practices and river conservation.
The painting competition, themed "Save our Rivers: Build a Clean and Green Future," invites participants aged 8 to 16. Meanwhile, the photography competition, themed "Life by the Water: Safe Water Saves Life," is open to participants aged 15 to 30.
Submissions for both competitions must be made by 30 April 2025, through the following links:

Winners will receive prize money and certificates in recognition of their creativity and commitment to water conservation. For the painting competition, the winner will receive Tk. 5,000, the first runner-up Tk. 4,000, and the second runner-up Tk. 3,000. In the photography competition, the winner will receive Tk. 15,000, followed by Tk. 10,000 and Tk. 5,000 for the first and second runners-up respectively.
The initiative is being supported by the Bangladesh Youth Parliament for Water (BYPW) as the strategic partner and ESTex as the technical partner.
"This programme is not just about raising awareness, but also about sparking creativity, passion, and youth-led solutions for a water-secure future," said the organisers.
