DU ranks 1st in South Asia, 52nd globally in 'THE Interdisciplinary Science Ranking'
This year, 12 public and private universities from Bangladesh secured positions in the league table
Dhaka University (DU) has been ranked first in South Asia and 52nd globally in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Ranking, according to a press release issued by the university's Public Relations Office today (20 November).
This year, 12 public and private universities from Bangladesh made it to the league table. The UK-based education magazine published its 2026 rankings, featuring 911 universities from 94 countries.
The Interdisciplinary Science Ranking evaluates universities on their ability to conduct multidimensional and cross-disciplinary research. Institutions are assessed across three broad areas: funding and research investment, measures of success and support systems, and publications, research quality, impact, and reputation.
Final rankings are determined using 11 performance indicators spanning these categories.
