The memoir was published by the Chittagong University Ex-Law Students Association (CUELSA), an association of the law department students of the university.

Dr Mizanur Rahman, former chairman of the Bangladesh Human Rights Commission, graced the function as the chief guest, with CUELSA president advocate Abu Taiyab Kiran in the chair.

Dr Ahmed Nabi, former professor of the Business Faculty at CU; Prof ABM Abu Noman, Dean of CU's Faculty of Law; Dr Abdullah Al Farooq, Director of Department of Education and Research at CU; various districts and sessions courts judges, and former students of Dr Shah Alam were special guests.

Addressing the occasion, the distinguished guests discussed and reminisced about the life and work of Dr Shah Alam and bowed to build a society inspired by his ideology.

Later, CUELSA president Abu Taiyab Kiran inaugurated the website of its organisation.

At the annual general meeting of the organisation held on that day, a new committee was formed, making Additional District and Sessions Judge Azizul Haque, a 3rd batch student of CU's law department, and Barrister Osman, an 8th batch student of the department, the president and general secretary, respectively.

A cultural function was also held with the participation of the members of the organisation.
