Copy-free SSC exams a priority, no irregularities in evaluation: Minister
He instructed all concerned to carry out their responsibilities with utmost awareness and hospitality so that students can pass based on their own merit.
No irregularities or negligence in answer script evaluation for the upcoming SSC and equivalent examinations will be tolerated, and exams must be held in a copy-free, transparent and disciplined environment, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon said today (6 April).
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion event with centre secretaries of education board, madrasah board and technical education board in Mymensingh, organised marking the SSC and equivalent examinations 2026.
"The prescribed guidelines for answer script evaluation must be strictly followed, as bias, negligence or irregularities harm the education system and hinder the proper reflection of students' true merit," the minister said, emphasising the need for examiners to maintain responsible and professional conduct.
He further said ensuring copy-free examinations remains a priority of the government.
He instructed all concerned to carry out their responsibilities with utmost awareness and hospitality so that students can pass based on their own merit.
He also highlighted the need to maintain strict management at examination centres and ensure discipline at every stage.
The education minister said initiatives have been taken to update the Public Examinations (Offences) Act, 1980 in line with current needs to bring those involved in question leaks, fraud and copying in public and government recruitment exams under the law.
Referring to past irregularities, he said the tendency to show artificial success in results harms education quality and stressed the need to move away from such unethical practices to build an accountable and quality education system.
Local MPs, divisional and district administration officials, senior officials of various education boards and chairmen of madrasah and technical education boards, among others, were present at the event.
