The University of Chattogram to host national moot court competition
Competition to focus on international humanitarian law
The University of Chittagong will host the 4th Professor Dr Khobir Uddin Ahmed National Moot Court Competition 2026 on 5 and 6 June, focusing on "International Humanitarian Law".
The announcement was made at a press conference held on Tuesday (2 June) at the conference room of the Chittagong University Journalists' Association by the organising body, Society for Critical Legal Studies (SCLS).
According to SCLS, 63 teams from 42 universities submitted written memorials, with 16 teams selected for the oral rounds. The competition will be held in five stages, including preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.
Students from several universities, including University of Dhaka, University of Rajshahi, North South University, BRAC University and International Islamic University Chittagong, will participate.
Organisers said the competition will provide law students with an opportunity to demonstrate their legal knowledge, research, analytical and advocacy skills while enhancing critical thinking and courtroom-based debating abilities.
