9 National University officials, including 8 deputy registrars, sent on forced retirement
The move comes months after 20 officials of the university, including a teacher, were sent into forced retirement in December 2024
The National University authorities today (23 April) sent nine of its officials, including eight deputy registrars, into forced retirement
Md Mostafizur Rahman, Director (Acting) of Public Relations of the university, disclosed the information through a press statement this afternoon.
The officers who were forced to retire include deputy registrars Md Shah Alam Dhali, Md Mohsin Iqbal, Premanand Shil, Md Shamim Alam Mridha, Md Jinnat Ara, Amit Kumar Dam, Md Siddiqur Rahman, Md Matiur Rahman Molya, and Assistant Registrar KM Badrul Alam.
The move comes months after 20 officials of the university, including a teacher, were sent into forced retirement in December 2024.
As per the press statement issued by Mostafizur, on yesterday (22 April), the above-mentioned nine officials were sent on forced retirement on completion of 25 years of service during the 268th meeting of the National University Syndicate.
The meeting held at the university's city office in Dhanmondi was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah.
The press statement further reads that in the 263rd meeting of the university's syndicate held on 3 November 2024, a proposal was approved to amend the Service Statute of the National University by including provisions for voluntary retirement after completing 25 years of service and sending employees on forced retirement in the interest of the university.
Later, it was ratified in the special senate session of the university held on 15 December 2024.
