Economist Barkat nominated as TIGER’s Scientific Research Advisory Board member
The board includes eminent international economists, researchers and political personalities

Dr Abul Barkat – renowned economist and president of the Bangladesh Economic Association – has been nominated as a member of Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research's (TIGER) Scientific Research Advisory Board for a ten-year term (2021-2030).
Nobel laureate Jose Ramon Horte will serve as the chairman of the US-based research institute's Scientific Research Advisory Board from 2021-2030.
He is replacing Robert A Mundell, who won the Nobel Prize in economics, says a press release.
The Scientific Research Advisory Board comprises eminent economists, researchers, thinkers, professionals, and political personalities from different countries of the world.
Former deputy prime minister and finance minister of Poland Prof Grzegorz W Kolodko, who played a key role in building modern Poland, serves as the director of the research institute.
