EC registers 81 local observer organisations ahead of national polls
All registered organisations will be allowed to observe the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election as well as various local government elections
The Election Commission (EC) has registered 81 local election observer organizations for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum.
The commission published the list of registered observer organisations today (8 December) signed by Md Ruhul Amin Mollik, director (public relations) and information officer of the EC Secretariat.
According to the Election Commission, the registrations were given in two phases. In the first phase, on 6 November, 66 local observer organisations were registered for the period from 6 November 2025 to 5 November 2030.
In the second phase, following scrutiny, the EC granted final approval to an additional 15 local observer organisations. These organisations are registered for five years, from 4 December 2025 to 3 December 2030.
All registered organisations will be allowed to observe the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election as well as various local government elections under the Election Observation Guidelines 2025.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission sent a letter to Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar today to record the Chief Election Commissioner's (CEC) address on 10 December.
EC Senior Secretary Akther Ahmed said the letter requested arrangements for the recording, but it has not yet been confirmed whether the speech will be broadcast on the same day.
Yesterday, Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah told reporters that the election schedule will be announced any day this week.
