EC to hold meeting with law enforcers on 20 October

The Election Commission (EC) will hold a meeting with law enforcement agencies on 20 October ahead of the 13th parliamentary election.
EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed disclosed this to reporters at his office in Nirbachan Bhaban in the city's Agargaon.
The secretary said, "On 20 October, all organisations involved in law and order, such as the army, air force and navy, among others, have been invited to the commission secretariat. Discussions will be held with them on maintaining law and order during the elections."
Regarding the progress of work on expatriate voters, he said, "The development of an app in this regard is underway. We hope it will be launched between the last week of October and the first week of November."
The secretary added, "We have completed several preparatory tasks. Some more are underway. Preparation for the election is a continuous process."
On the registration of local observers, he said, "Notifications have been issued regarding local observers. I would like to sincerely thank the media for this. Through you, we have received useful and meaningful information about the organisations. This will help us identify genuine observers, from whom we expect credible observation."
About the electoral dialogue with stakeholders, he said, "We have held discussions with stakeholders at various levels, and the dialogue is ongoing."
