EC clears all 36 BNP nominations for reserved women’s seats
The election is scheduled to be held on 12 April
The Election Commission (EC) has declared all 36 nomination papers submitted by the BNP alliance candidates for reserved women's seats in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad as valid.
The returning officer announced after scrutinising the nomination papers at the Election Commission building auditorium today (23 April).
The cleared candidates are Selima Rahman, Shirin Sultana, Rasheda Begum Hira, Rehana Akter Ranu, Newaz Halima Early, Mosammat Farida Yasmin, Bilkis Islam, Shakila Farzana, Helen Jerin Khan, Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, Nipon Roy Chowdhury, Zeba Amin Khan, Mahmuda Habiba, Sabira Sultana, Sansila Zebrin, Sanjida Islam Tuli, Sultana Ahmed, Fahmida Haque, Anna Minj, Subarna Shikder, Shamima Ara Begum Swapna, Shammi Akter, Ferdousi Ahmed, Bithika Binte Hossain, Suraiya Jerin, Mansura Akter, Joharat Adib Chowdhury, Momtaz Alam, Fahima Nasrin, Arifa Sultana, Sanjida Yasmin, Shawkat Ara Akter, Madhabi Marma, Selina Sultana and Rezeka Sultana.
According to the schedule, appeals against the returning officer's decision can be filed with the EC on 26 April, while the disposal of appeals will take place on 27 and 28 April.
The deadline for withdrawal of candidature is 29 April, and election symbols will be allocated on 30 April. The election is scheduled to be held on 12 April.
