DU students place Pakistan flag stickers on hall entrance floors to 'denounce razakars' in Victory month
The stickers contained slogans including “No compromise with razakar” and “Hit the razakars on both cheeks with shoes”
A group of Dhaka University students have placed Pakistani flag stickers on the ground in front of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) building gate and at the entrances of three residential halls, as a symbolic gesture of contempt towards Pakistan and its collaborators (razakars) during the 1971 Liberation War.
The stickers contained slogans including "No compromise with razakar" and "Hit the razakars on both cheeks with shoes."
Since Sunday (7 December), students placed the stickers on the floors at the Ducsu building, Shahid Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall, Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall and Bijoy Ekattor Hall, according to campus sources.
Karib Chowdhury, a member of the convening committee of the hall unit of the Chhatra Dal, placed the stickers at the main gate of Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall.
Speaking to The Business Standard yesterday (8 December), he said, "This initiative is a mark of respect for those whose blood gave us Bangladesh, and an expression of honour for their sacrifice. At the same time, it symbolises our hatred towards the razakars and the Pakistani forces."
