DU restricts entry before burial of Osman Hadi
Today, between 1:30pm and 2pm, it was seen that movement was controlled at key entry points including Shahbagh, Doel Chattar, Shibbari Crossing, Fuller Road and Nilkhet.
Dhaka University has closed its campus entry points ahead of the burial of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
The university administration said in a notice today (20 December) that the move has been taken to ensure overall security.
Today, between 1:30pm and 2pm, it was seen that movement was controlled at key entry points including Shahbagh, Doel Chattar, Shibbari Crossing, Fuller Road and Nilkhet.
At the Shahbagh intersection, it was seen that police and BGB personnel were stationed on both sides of the road.
Another barricade was seen near the gate adjacent to the central mosque, where police, BGB and SWAT members were on duty.
The university's public relations office urged teachers, students, staff and visitors to avoid crowding the campus during the burial, adding that all entry points will remain closed for security reasons.
