Dr Zubaida Rahman heads back to London
During her stay, Zubaida, who is also a member of Khaleda Zia's medical board, visited Evercare Hospital in the capital to assess her mother-in-law's health condition and consult with doctors.
Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and daughter-in-law of BNP chief Khaleda Zia, is returning to London after a brief visit to Bangladesh.
Zubaida arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning (20 December) and left for the United Kingdom capital on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
She had arrived in Dhaka earlier this month to make arrangements for taking Khaleda abroad for advanced medical treatment. However, those plans are no longer being pursued at this stage, and the former prime minister will continue receiving treatment in Bangladesh.
During her stay, Zubaida, who is also a member of Khaleda Zia's medical board, visited Evercare Hospital in the capital to assess her mother-in-law's health condition and consult with doctors.
Khaleda has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital amid multiple serious health complications and remains under close medical supervision.
Meanwhile, Tarique is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on 25 December.
A diplomat at the Bangladesh High Commission in London confirmed that Tarique received a travel pass from the mission yesterday following his application to return home.
Tarique is expected to arrive at Dhaka airport at 11:45am on 25 December, according to BNP sources.
