Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus today (5 September) placed a wreath at the Shikha Anirban at Dhaka Cantonment, paying tributes to the martyred members of the armed forces who sacrificed their lives in the 1971 Liberation War.

As the chief adviser arrived at Shikha Anirban at 11:30am, Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan and Armed Forces Principal Staff Officer Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan welcomed him.

After placing the wreath, the chief adviser signed the visitor's book kept at the Shikha Anirban, an ISPR press release said.

Later, he passed his working day at his own office in the Armed Forces Division for the first time.

On his arrival at the Armed Forces Division, the chief adviser was received by the Principal Staff Officer and Director General of the Armed Forces Division.

Then the chiefs of three services paid a courtesy call on the chief adviser at his office.

Lieutenant General (retd) Abdul Hafiz, special assistant to the chief adviser on defence and national reconciliation affairs, was present.
