DMP issues parking guidelines ahead of Khaleda’s reception

In anticipation of large crowds gathering in the Gulshan-Banani area to welcome BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday morning, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a set of traffic and parking directives to ensure smooth movement and avoid congestion.
Khaleda Zia is scheduled to return to Bangladesh from London at 10:30am. She will travel from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to her residence in Gulshan.
According to the DMP's directives, journalists arriving at the airport have been requested to park their vehicles in the airport's multi-level car parking facility.
Those coming to receive Khaleda have been advised to use the vacant land adjacent to Swadesh Properties along the 300 Feet Road for parking, reads the notice, signed by Talebur Rahman, deputy police commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division.
In Gulshan, journalists have been instructed to park their vehicles in a single lane on roads surrounding the Gulshan Society Park.
Others attending the reception were also asked to use the roads near Justice Shahabuddin Park, also maintaining single-lane parking.
The DMP has requested that no vehicles be parked on highways or in any undesignated areas. Parking along the route of the motorcade is also prohibited.
Additionally, no unauthorised vehicles will be allowed to join the motorcade during the movement.
The DMP emphasised that these measures are necessary to manage the expected crowds and ensure public safety during the high-profile return.
