DMP files 870 cases, fines Tk35.79 lakh for traffic violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) traffic division has filed a total of 870 cases and imposed Taka 35,79,500 as a fine in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.
The cases were filed and a fine was imposed yesterday (22 September), a DMP release said today.
During the drive, a total of 64 vehicles were impounded and 60 others were towed. Taka8, 62,550 was collected in cash during the drives.
