DMP bans fireworks during Christmas celebrations

The ban which will come into effect from Tuesday midnight till midnight of the following day

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all kinds of fireworks, firecrackers and sky lanterns in the capital on the occasion of Christmas, which will be observed on 25 December (Wednesday).

In a public notice issued today, DMP Commissioner, MD Shajjad Ali announced the ban which will come into effect from Tuesday midnight till midnight of the following day.

The ban was imposed under section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance to maintain law and order in the capital.

The DMP has sought the cooperation of the city residents to ensure the safe and orderly celebration of Christmas.
