Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that initiatives have been taken to bring back the two accused in the murder case of Inqilab Mancho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, who were recently arrested in India.
"Initiatives have been taken to bring back the two accused in the Hadi murder case," he said while speaking to journalists after a law and order committee meeting at the Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner's Office today (9 March).
According to Indian authorities, the two key suspects, Faisal Karim Masud, the prime accused in the case, and his associate Alamgir Hossain, were arrested during a raid in the Bangaon area of West Bengal, near the Bangladesh border, on Saturday night (7 March).
The information was confirmed in a press release issued by the West Bengal Police Special Task Force (STF) yesterday (8 March).
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir also said diplomatic efforts are underway to bring the accused back to Bangladesh.
"Diplomatic efforts are underway to bring back the two accused in the Hadi murder case who were arrested in West Bengal," he said while speaking at a press conference at the Police Headquarters Media Centre today.
