Dhaka South to clear all sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours: Asif Mahmud
Over 10,000 personnel have been deployed to the field to ensure prompt waste collection and removal

Dhaka South City Corporation is set to remove all sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours, ensuring that Eid-ul-Adha celebrations remain uninterrupted by waste-related issues, Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said today (7 June).
"This year, the joy of Eid will not be hampered by waste-related issues in the city," he said during his inspection of rapid waste removal efforts at the Secondary Transfer Station (STS) near Kalabagan Shishu Park, reads a press release.
Waste management operations have already commenced simultaneously across all 75 wards under Dhaka South. Over 10,000 personnel have been deployed to the field to ensure prompt waste collection and removal.
To support the operation, a total of 2,079 vehicles have been mobilised, including 207 dump trucks, 44 compactors, 39 container carriers, and 16 payloaders.
Additionally, a control room has been established at Dhaka South's Emergency Operations Centre for 24/7 supervision of the waste removal efforts.
