Dhaka sees heavier morning traffic as offices open today
The unusual Saturday activity follows the government’s decision to grant an extended 10-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha, from 5 June to 14 June

Dhaka experienced heavier-than-usual traffic this morning (17 May) as government offices and financial institutions are open for the day, breaking from the typical weekend routine.
The unusual Saturday activity follows the government's decision to grant an extended 10-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha, from 5 June to 14 June.
The government announced the long Eid-ul-Azha holiday on 6 May.
To make up for the extended leave, government offices will remain open on two Saturdays— 17 May and 24 May—despite usually being closed on weekends.
