The development trajectory of Singapore is an example for Bangladesh, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain said today (20 September).

He made the remark during a meeting with the newly appointed Chargé d' Affaires (CDA) of the Republic of Singapore in Dhaka Mitchel Lee, after Lee presented his Letter of Commission (LOC) at the adviser's office.

Welcoming Lee to Bangladesh, the adviser assured him of full cooperation during his tenure.

During the brief meeting followed by the LOC presentation, the issues of mutual interest including trade & investment, cooperation in ICT sector, education, tourism, energy, skill and semi-skill manpower sending, clean energy, energy supply chain and training programmes for the public servants were discussed.

The foreign adviser highlighted the importance of knowledge-sharing between the countries, particularly in IT start-ups and electronics, as well as the need for joint efforts to improve the ease of doing business for foreign investors.

The adviser also urged the impactful role of Singapore in the ASEAN for a sustainable and permanent solution to the Rohingya issue. Foreign Advisor mentioned that permanent solution to the Rohingya issue is their return to Myanmar.
