Denmark, Bangladesh to strengthen cooperation on safer, greener food systems
This week, Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix Møller paid a visit to the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) headquarters in Dhaka - the first by any ambassador to the institution

Denmark has reiterated its commitment to support Bangladesh in building a safer, greener, and more resilient food system through enhanced cooperation on food safety, sustainable production, and regulatory frameworks.
This week, Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix Møller paid a visit to the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) headquarters in Dhaka - the first by any ambassador to the institution.
Ambassador Møller was received by BSTI Director General S M Ferdous Alam and his team, who guided him through the organisation's laboratories and testing facilities. An Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Industries also joined the visit, reflecting the depth of the Bangladesh-Denmark partnership.
According to the Danish Embassy, the visit underscored shared priorities, including strengthening food safety and sustainable production, facilitating knowledge and skill-sharing between Danish and Bangladeshi experts, and ensuring products in Bangladesh are safe, compliant with legislation, and supportive of an enabling business environment.
Denmark and Bangladesh have shared more than five decades of bilateral partnership. Since 2024, both countries have been collaborating under the Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) Project to strengthen regulatory frameworks, build capacity, and promote safer and more sustainable food production.
Denmark has expressed optimism about continuing this cooperation to further support Bangladesh in advancing consumer safety, boosting export competitiveness, and fostering sustainable production practices.
