Dateline Bhola: People rushing towards cyclone shelters
A total of 668 shelter centres and 12,000 volunteers have been kept ready to face the cyclone

As cyclone Bulbul is approaching to hit the coastal districts of the country, people are rushing towards the shelter centres in Bhola.
Our Bhola correspondent reports that a total of 668 shelter centres and 12,000 volunteers have been kept ready to face the cyclone. Besides, Bhola district administration opened eight control rooms to monitor the situation.
Deputy Commissioner of the district Masud Alam Siddique said, "A total of 20 tonnes of rice, 2,000 packets of dry food and Tk10 lakh cash have been allocated for the victims."
People of the char areas will be brought to the shelter centres by 12am today, he added.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority Assistant Director Kamruzzaman said, "Launch services of Bhola routes have been halted until further notice. However, Dhaka-bound launches left Bhola On Friday evening."
The Cyclone has triggered light to moderate rainfall in the district. The water level has also risen in the Meghna and Tetulia River.
