Chattogram WASA's main transmission line has been damaged during canal excavation under the Chattogram Development Authority's (CDA) waterlogging mitigation project in the Anannya Residential Area.

This may disrupt the water supply in 16 areas of the city.  

Chattogram WASA issued a public notice in this regard today (18 February).

According to the notice, "The main transmission line of Chattogram WASA was damaged during development activities by the contractor of the CDA's project titled 'Excavation, Expansion, Renovation, and Development of Canals to Alleviate Waterlogging in Chattogram City' in the Oxygen-Kuwaish connecting road area of Anannya Residential Area."  

"This transmission line supplies water to a large part of the city. As a result, water supply disruptions are expected in Halishahar, Agrabad, Jamal Khan, Lalkhan Bazar, Madarbari, GEC, Muradpur, Kadamtali, Dhonialapara, Nayabazar, 2 No Gate, Bayezid, Oxygen, Chawkbazar, Nandankanan, and Sirajdoullah Road," the notice added.  

The notice further mentioned that Chattogram WASA is making maximum efforts to repair the damaged transmission line as quickly as possible.
