"Jisan had not been home since 5 August last year. Last night, when he returned to deliver clothes for his family members, locals apprehended and beat him. Upon receiving information, a police team rushed to the scene, but Jisan's relatives had already taken him to CMCH," he said.

"Legal action would be taken if any formal complaint is filed regarding the incident," the OC added.

According to locals, Jisan was named as the 58th accused in a case filed over an attack on a student protest at Keranihat Square on 4 August last year. The case was filed by Md Taslim, son of the late Siddiqur Rahman from Gura Mia Bari in Keochia village.
