Woman run over, killed on Shantinagar flyover
An unidentified woman, believed to be in her late twenties, was killed last night after being run over by a passenger bus on the Shantinagar flyover in the capital.
The incident took place around 11:30pm near the Shantinagar police box, while the woman was reportedly walking against the traffic.
Upon receiving the news, police rushed to the spot and took the injured woman to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Nur Khan.

"She was declared dead on arrival by attending doctors," he said.
"The woman was walking in the wrong direction on the flyover when she was hit by the bus. We believe she may have been homeless and intellectually challenged."
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, and efforts are underway to identify the victim, he also said.
Meanwhile, police have seized the bus, though the driver managed to flee the scene.
