A team of Value Added Tax (VAT) Intelligence found evidence of evading VAT worth Tk 3 crore while raiding three beauty parlours in the Gulshan area of the capital today.

The operation was led by VAT intelligence Deputy Directors Nazmunnahar Kaiser and Ferdousi Mahbub on Sunday.

The raided parlours are - Javed Habib Beauty Parlor, Zahid Khan Bridal Makeover & Bridal Studio and Aroma Thai Spa.

According to the VAT Act, these three organizations have not filed their returns regularly. Although there is a provision to keep the thirteen-digit VAT registration certificate hanging on the institution premises, it has not been complied with as well.

Cases will be filed against the parlours for violating VAT laws.
