Two crude bombs explode in Karwan Bazar; police dispute jurisdiction
No casualties were reported over the incident.
At least two crude bombs exploded near the SAARC Fountain intersection in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar area this evening (16 November).
The blasts occurred around 7:30pm, but confusion soon emerged among law enforcement over which police station holds jurisdiction over the incident.
Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mobarak Hossain told The Business Standard that the site of the explosions falls under Kalabagan Police Station.
However, when contacted, Kalabagan Police Station OC Fazle Ashik said, "We have sent a patrol team there but the place falls under Tejgaon police station."
No casualties were reported over the incident.
