Two arrested for assaulting on-duty traffic policeman in Kushtia
Police arrested two women in Kushtia for assaulting a traffic police constable named Nazmul Islam while he was on duty this morning (9 December).
The arrestees are Sohana Islam Roja and Sanjida Akhter Shanta, both residents of Kushtia city.
Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shihabur Rahman confirmed the arrest and stated that a case has been filed against the women.

The incident occurred this morning when Nazmul Islam was on duty at the intersection in front of Court Station Mosque.
According to police and local sources, the two women, who were rushing to school with a child, were stopped by the constable due to heavy traffic. An argument ensued, escalating into a physical assault captured on video and widely shared on social media.
The video footage shows the women slapping and kicking the police constable, even hitting the cop with their sandals. Therefore, locals intervened to stop the assault.
