Teenager stabbed to death in Sylhet; 3 detained
Police have detained three suspects in connection with the attack
A teenager has been killed in a stabbing incident in the Badambagicha area of Sylhet city.
The deceased, Shah Mahmud Hasan Topu, 15, was the son of Shah Enamul Haque in the Ilashkandi Badambagicha area and a seventh-grade student of Khasdabir High School.
Police have detained three suspects in connection with the attack, said Sylhet Metropolitan Police's Deputy Commissioner Md Tarek Ahmed.
The detainees are Md Jahid Hasan, son of Shafiqul Islam; Md Anik Mia, son of Abdul Monir; and Md Juned Ahmed, son of Md Bashirul Islam.
"Due to a dispute between two groups of teenagers, Jahid and his associates allegedly stabbed Topu indiscriminately around 11:30pm yesterday, leaving him critically injured. Relatives took him to Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he died around 6am today [28 November]," Deputy Commissioner Tarek said.
The police official further said that after an autopsy, Topu's body was handed over to his family in the afternoon.
No complaint has yet been filed with the police station, but legal procedures are underway, he added.
