Six held over armed robbery at Mirpur money exchange
DB officials said most of the arrestees have previous criminal records, including charges under robbery, murder, and arms cases

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested six members of a robbery gang, including its ringleader, in connection with an armed robbery at a money exchange outlet in the capital's Mirpur-10 area.
The arrested are - gang leader Jalil Molla, along with Mostafiz (50), Palash (28), Dipu (50), Sohag (35), and Zafar (33).
According to DB officials, the gang has long been involved in robbing cash and gold ornaments across various locations.
Speaking at a media briefing today (18 June), DB Joint Commissioner (South) Mohammad Nasirul Islam said, "Multiple DB teams were deployed immediately after the robbery. Using intelligence and technology, they first traced a microbus used in the crime."
The microbus driver, Zafar, was arrested from Tongi in Gazipur. During initial questioning, he admitted his role in the robbery. Based on his statement, five other members were arrested in coordinated raids across Dhaka, Barishal, Patuakhali, Mymensingh, and Jashore.
