According to the case documents, the accused gathered in the Katakhali Golchattar area of Fakirhat upazila on the afternoon of 4 August to suppress the anti-discrimination rally. They destroyed important structures, fired shots at the agitating crowd and hurled several crude bombs to create panic.

In addition, former Bagerhat Police Superintendent Abul Hasnat Khan, being a high-ranking official, has made provocative statements. He is also accused of inciting the accused to take action against the student movement.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fakirhat Police Station SM Alamgir Kabir confirmed the matter to BSS. Former Superintendent of Police Abul Hasnat Khan has already been arrested in the case, he added.
