Sada Pathor looting: RAB arrests ex-BNP leader in Sylhet
Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-9 team conducted a raid in the Kumarpara and arrested Sahab Uddin

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Sahab Uddin, the former president of BNP's Companiganj Upazila unit, from the Kumarpara area of Sylhet city last night (13 September) in connection with the illegal extraction of stones from the Sada Pathor area.
According to a media release issued by the RAB-9, Sahab Uddin is one of the primary accused in the widespread illegal stone extraction in Companiganj and Gowainghat Upazilas over the past year.
Media reports on the extensive looting had created a stir nationwide, prompting RAB-9 to intensify its intelligence operations to apprehend those responsible.
Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-9 team conducted a raid in the Kumarpara and arrested Sahab Uddin, described as a key perpetrator in the notorious Bholaganj Sada Pathor looting incident.
KM Shahidul Islam Sohag, Media Officer (Additional Superintendent of Police) of RAB-9, confirmed that seven cases have been filed against Sahab Uddin at Companiganj and Kotwali police stations. He has been handed over to Kotwali Police Station.
Earlier, on 11 August, all of Sahab Uddin's party positions, including the presidency of Companiganj Upazila BNP, were suspended through a notification signed by the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, over his alleged involvement in the incident.
A case was filed against him with Companiganj Police Station on 15 August.
