Police officer injured in Chattogram port area raid, 18 detained, weapons seized

A police officer was seriously injured and 18 suspects were detained during a raid in the Madhyam Halishahar Khalpar area under Chattogram's Bandar Police Station last night (11 August).
The injured officer was identified as Sub-Inspector (SI) Masud Rana, who is currently receiving treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Bandar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sultan Muhammad Habib Ahsan said, "Acting on information about a group of criminals in the area, a team led by SI Masud Rana launched a raid around 10:30pm. During the operation, listed criminal Shakil and his associates attacked the team, leaving SI Rana seriously injured."

SI Rana has been admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
"A case is currently being processed. Further details will be shared later," the OC further said.
