The Counter Terrorism Investigation Department (CTTC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested a member of the Neo JMB (Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh) from the Kotwali police station area of ​​the capital.

The arrestee is Md Salek alias Abu Salek, 19.

Sheikh Imran Hossain, senior assistant commissioner of police at CTTC, told The Business Standard, "He was arrested on August 24 at around 7 pm in a raid at the Babu Bazar Bridge area under Kotwali police station."

One mobile phone was recovered from him.

He added, "Arrested Salek communicated with others through social media and other online networking apps. He planned to recruit members and carry out subversive activities to strengthen the militant organisation."
