Missing Krishak Dal leader found dead in Rangpur, one held
Family members and locals said Mobarak left home on the night of 25 September after Isha prayers but did not return

Police have recovered the body of local leader of Jatiotabadi Krishak Dal, who went missing a day ago, in Kaunia Upazila of Rangpur.
The deceased was identified as Mobarak Ali, son of Ibrahim Hossain of Chargonai area and convener of Tepamadhupur union unit of Krishak Dal.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaunia Police Station Abdul Latif Shah said Mobarak's body, wrapped in cloth, was exhumed from behind the house of Mominul Islam, a local resident, at around 11pm yesterday (26 September).
His wife filed a general diary (GD) with Kaunia Police Station after he had gone missing.
Family members and locals said Mobarak left home on the night of 25 September after Isha prayers but did not return.
The next day his mobile phone was found in a paddy field near Mominul's house.
As local people saw freshly dug soil in a nearby banana grove, they dug the spot and found the body wrapped in cloth and informed police.
OC Latif Shah said the body was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital's morgue for autopsy.
Police detained one person, Nazrul Islam, in connection with the incident.
