Man lynched, motorcycle set ablaze during alleged mugging attempt in Narayanganj

A young man was lynched by a mob, and a motorcycle was set on fire following an alleged mugging attempt in the Jalkuri Karaitola area of Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, this morning (8 March).

Abdul Barik, officer-in-charge (OC) of Siddhirganj Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect had died before police could reach the location.
According to witnesses, a group of three men on a motorcycle intercepted a pedestrian in an attempt to rob him. Noticing the commotion, locals rushed to the scene and managed to corner one of the suspected muggers, while his two associates fled the area.
The agitated crowd then beat the 26-year-old, leading to his death on the spot. Following the lynching, the angry mob set fire to the motorcycle used by the suspects.
"Our team is currently at the scene," the OC said, adding that law enforcement officials are working to verify the deceased's details.
