Man arrested for 'drugging minor stepdaughter, recording objectionable video, attempting to rape her'
The victim’s mother has filed two separate cases over pornography and attempted rape against the suspect, the Naryanganj Port Police Station Officer-in-Charge Toriqul Islam confirmed to The Business Standard

The Narayanganj police have arrested a man on charges of shooting 'objectionable video' of his minor stepdaughter after drugging her, later blackmailing her with the video and attempting to rape her.
The man, identified as Shahim, 40, was arrested last night (8 March) from the Nabiganj Kadam Rasul Housing (Olympia) residential area near the Nrayanganj Port, said police.
The victim's mother has filed two separate cases over pornography and attempted rape against the suspect, Naryanganj's Port Police Station Officer-in-Charge Toriqul Islam confirmed to The Business Standard.
As per the case statements, on 3 March, Shamim drugged his 14-year-old stepdaughter with sleeping pills and shot an 'objectionable video' of her.
Later, he blackmailed her with the video and tried to rape multiple times, the case statements read. "The minor girl informed her mother of the matter."
Last night, he again tried to rape the girl, but she screamed for help, prompting neighbours to rescue her and detain the man. He was later handed over to the port police station.
"The accused has been produced in court," OC Torikul said.
