Khulna BCL leader Taslim arrested
Police sources stated that Taslim Taj has been actively involved for a long time in creating political instability, planning acts of sabotage, and engaging in anti-government activities
Former vice-president of the Khulna district unit of the banned student organisation Chhatra League, Taslim Hossain Taj, was detained by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).
Taj previously served as the personal assistant (PA) to former Awami League member of parliament Akhtaruzzaman Babu.
He was detained at around 12:15am yesterday (18 December) in the Farazipara area of the city.
Police said that he is currently being interrogated and legal action against him is underway. If necessary, he may be produced before the court and a remand may be sought, according to DB sources.
Furthermore, police sources stated that Taj has been actively involved for a long time in creating political instability, planning acts of sabotage, and engaging in anti-government activities.
He is also alleged to have links to sabotage-related operations.
Confirming the detention, KMP DB Officer-in-Charge (OC) Taimur Islam said that Taslim Hossain Taj was involved in anti-government activities and had been staying in Khulna as part of a conspiracy to disrupt the election.
Acting on confidential intelligence, police conducted an operation and detained him.
