ICT forms fact-finding committee to probe ‘unethical activities’
The chief prosecutor said the committee was created in response to a recent complaint, which is being taken very seriously.
A five-member fact-finding committee has been formed to investigate alleged unethical activities within the prosecution team of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)
Speaking at a press briefing at his office conference room today (11 March), Chief Prosecutor Aminul Islam said the committee will uncover any information regarding misconduct involving prosecution team members or associated individuals.
"If evidence-based allegations are found, appropriate legal action will be taken," he added.
The chief prosecutor said the committee was created in response to a recent complaint, which is being taken very seriously.
"I am leading a five-member fact-finding committee. The main purpose of this committee is to investigate the matter thoroughly," he said.
The committee was formed yesterday (10 March), and its work officially began this morning.
According to officials, the chief prosecutor will lead the five-member fact-finding committee. Other members include prosecutors Abdus Sobhan Tarafder, Marjina Raihan Madina, Mohammad Zahirul Amin, and law research officer Sifatullah.
