Father arrested on charges of raping 10-year-old daughter in Chattogram
Police have arrested a father in Chattogram's Kotwali area on charges of raping his minor daughter.
The arrest took place yesterday night (9 March) in the Baluar Dighi Purbo Par area.
The arrested man was identified as Pradip Kumar Banik, 52, a security guard at the Moti Tower Market in the city's Chawkbazar area.

Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Karim stated that they acted on information received through the national emergency service number 999. A police team arrested Pradip Kumar Banik, who is accused of raping his 10-year-old daughter.
The victim had recorded a video of one of the assaults on her mobile phone, which police have seized.
According to OC Abdul Karim, the victim revealed during initial questioning that her mother is a working woman. Taking advantage of her absence, Pradip allegedly raped his daughter multiple times.
The accused has reportedly confessed to the crime.
The victim's mother filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Kotwali police station.
The victim has been sent to the one stop crisis centre of Chittagong Medical College for treatment, said the OC.
