Ex-energy adviser's PO Monowar arrested in Dhamrai
Legal process is underway against the arrestee

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Md Monowar Hossain, 50, personal officer of ousted premier Sheikh Hasina's former energy adviser's Tawfiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury, in an attempt to murder case on an incident during July-August uprising.
A team of Adabor Police Station of D conducted a special raid in Dhamrai area of Dhaka at around 04:30pm yesterday (4 March) and rounded up Monowar, who was PO of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's energy adviser Tawfiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury in 2009-10, a DMP media release today.
It said an assistant-secretary of the central sub-committee of the Awami League, Monowar was a candidate in the Dhamrai constituency in the last parliamentary elections.
Police said that arrestee Monowar Hossain is an accused in a case filed with Adabor Police Station for attempt to kill Md. Monir Hossain during the anti-discrimination student movement. Monir Hossain filed the case as the plaintiff on September 21 last year.
Adabor Police detected the location of Monowar Hossain with the help of information technology.
Legal process is underway against the arrestee.
