Former cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor was arrested on Sunday (15 September) night.
He has been accused in a murder case filed at the Mirpur Police Station, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter to TBS.
The DMP's Detective Branch made the arrest at 11:00pm from the Nawratan Colony area in Bailey Road.

Noor is a Bangladeshi actor, politician and activist.
He was a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Nilphamari-2 constituency during 2001–2024 and served as minister during 2014–2019.
