DMP detains 95 in Mohammadpur–Adabor crackdown
The arrested individuals have been sent to court.
Police have detained 95 people in a special drive conducted in the capital's Mohammadpur and Adabor areas to ensure public safety during Ramadan and a peaceful Eid celebration.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Talebur Rahman said a four-hour joint operation was carried out from 10pm on Wednesday (25 February) until 2am in Mohammadpur and Adabor, resulting in 95 arrests. Of them, 54 were detained by Adabor Police Station and 41 by Mohammadpur Police Station.
Among those arrested, one was held in a case over preparation for dacoity, one in a murder case, four in extortion cases, four were warrant-listed accused, and 44 were detained under various other charges.
He further said that the primary objective of the joint drive was to identify and detain individuals involved in extortion, juvenile gangs, drug trafficking, mugging, and other criminal activities. The arrested individuals have been sent to court.
