An 18-year-old boy, who was reportedly abducted by unidentified individuals while travelling to Cox's Bazar from Chattogram, has yet to be recovered in five days since the incident.
The victim is Riazul Hasan, son of Ferdous Alam, a CNG-driven autorickshaw driver in Charamba union of Lohagara upazila of Chattogram.
Riazul was abducted while travelling to Cox's Bazar after leaving home on 17 June, alleged his father.
Ferdous alleged that as he called on his son's phone number, an unidentified individual received the call and issued a threat to kill the boy, demanding a ransom of Tk5 lakh.
A general diary has been filed in this connection at Lohagara police station.
