CMP arrests 59 in 48 hours, total reaches 418 in 15 days

The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested 59 individuals, including members of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations, during a 48-hour special operation conducted from Thursday 2pm to Saturday at 2pm.
According to CMP, the arrests were made on charges of inciting unrest, planning disruptions, aiding criminal activities, and possessing illegal weapons.
This latest operation brings the total number of individuals arrested in CMP's ongoing crackdown to 418 over the past 15 days.
In a press release issued this afternoon, the Public Relations and Media Wing of CMP confirmed that the arrested individuals face multiple charges, including attacks on protesters during the July uprising, violations of the Special Powers Act, and offences under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
CMP officials stated that investigations are still ongoing, and the arrested individuals will be presented before the court for legal proceedings.
