Child kidnapped from Ctg rescued from hill near Myanmar border, 2 arrested

A seven-month-old child, abducted from Chattogram, was rescued by the police from a remote hill near the Myanmar border in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday night.
Two suspects, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to Md Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Bostami Police Station, the child's mother lodged a complaint on Tuesday night, stating that her daughter had been abducted from their home in Shantinagar area of Chattogram.
The rescue operation was carried out in the Moulovikata area of Garjania Union under Ramu upazila in Cox's Bazar district.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sumaiya Akter, 19, of Naikhongchhari in Bandarban and Nurul Alam, 40, from Ramu in Cox's Bazar.
Upon receiving the complaint, police launched an immediate investigation.
"Using technology-based tracking, we initially located Sumaiya in Uttar Boroitoli village of Chakaria upazila in Cox's Bazar," said OC Kamruzzaman.
Both suspects have been produced before court, the OC added.
Police said the child is safe and has been reunited with her family. Further investigation is underway to determine whether others were involved in the abduction.
